FROM MONASTIC ORDER AND MEDITATION TO APOSTOLATE
“MONKS OF THE BROTHERS OF THE CROSS”
AND “NUNS OF THE SISTERS OF JESUS CRUCIFIED”
FROM THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

IDENTITY, ROOTS AND SOURCES
Bishop Becharra El Raai‘s Approbation of
The Brothers of the Cross and of the Sisters of Jesus Crucified
(A- T 5156 / 2007/ Amchit in 26th of August 2007):
The Brothers of the Cross and Sisters of Jesus
Crucified… bear the seeds of authentic faith, and live that
faith through prayer and asceticism, together with Christian witness
and apostolic commitment. Also, they take part continuously in most
liturgical and ecclesiastical activities in the Jbeil Maronite diocese,
and in the Christian education sessions, …from parish to parish,
…all of which sheds light over their progress from the beginning
of their monastic journey, …under the guidance of their bishop.
“They have led a committed community life
of brotherly love deep-rooted in individual prayer, spiritual reading
and work with their hands. They have acquired a profound conception
of the evangelical teachings... They are used to working hard and
industriously, lending assistance to others in joy and peace...
We sense in both communities fundamental spiritual, qualities that
can be summarized as follows: Both communities are very close to
monastic life and to a commitment towards a common apostolate that
reaches the poor and the common people. They are moved by the spirit
of the Gospel, reliance on Providence, and detachment from money
and acquisitions, being concerned only about living the Christian
apostolate and walking on the way of the Holy Ghost...”
+ Becharra El Raai - Bishop of Jbeil (Signature
and seal)
Confirmation of the Approval of the Church
Preliminary Decree of Approval : By virtue of the approbation given
on the 26th of August 2007, …as per law 506 of the Code for
the Eastern Churches, and pending the possible presentation of a
request for the official and final wording of the Holy See after
consultation with His Beatitude the Patriarch, …we grant the
two communities of the Brothers of the Cross and the Sisters of
the Crucified Jesus a Preliminary Decree of Approval for a trial
period of five years, each community being considered a moral person.
